| New Blog-aroniI have a new blog. Like others, I'm leaving the trailer park that is Xanga. Though I will miss it when the neighborhood kids play stick ball.

| A Constant Struggle... The other day Eliot said something that really cracked me up. I caught 2 little gremlins in the kitchen, looking pretty suspicious. (They have the bad habit of stealing cheese, jelly, and such when I'm not watching.) I said, "Eliot, what are you guys doing in here?"
He said, "Oh we're just pretending to be humans."

| Barrenness is soo hot right nowThis article is unbelievable. These people are self righteous for the most unexpected reasons. It never occurred to them to teach children to make the world a better place.

Eliot is finally potty trained, and we're all very, very
happy. And all it took was a little superman underwear.

| My Cup of Entertainment Spilleth Over: Another Conversation about the internet and Postmillenialism Youtube, Pitchfork Media, and our first video call sparked a conversation between me and Josh.
When I was in High School in the late 90's listening to The Ronnettes, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, the Cardigans, and Various Tooth and Nail Bands, I thought I was just a weirdo stuck in the wrong decade. There was nothing good on top 40 radio. Blaming Clear Channel executives for wasting airwaves on Brittany and Limp Bizkit, I turned to some underground music and old stuff. Although I've probably loosened up about pop music a little bit, but I think it really is getting better because of the internet, among other things. (I still uphold that the late 90's were unabashedly terrible. The words "I wanna stand with you on a mountain, I wanna bathe with you in the sea" come to mind.) Thanks to so many websites, satellite radio stations finding good music and indie art is easy and democratic as ever. There is so much cool music right now that anyone can access, that I can't keep up. Here are some of my favorite bands, movies, artists, and music resources that I might never have heard without the internet. (Many of these you probably already know and have already been featured on my husband's blog.)
1. The happiest song you can imagine, and you can't get it out of your head. 2. Beauty is hip again. Phil Spector's glimmery sound as heard in a sweet Department of Eagles song 3. & 4. The Band Grizzly Bear performing a "takeaway show" on Blogotheque 5. God Bless Sweden: Add Victoria Bergsman (formerly of The Concretes) to the list of Awesome Scandinavian People 6. Been waiting to see this movie, and it finally came to Hastings, of all places. All other actors now seem like robots. 7. Sleepy, beautiful music by M.Ward and Neko Case 8. This and that: cool Feist music videos.
I'm sure I'll probably think of a lot more stuff after I post this, but those were just on my mind. | | |
